Earth Day

With the growing awareness of the need for peace and environmental protection as a means of survival and prosperity of our kind from 1970 to this day, we celebrate April 22nd as Earth day. On this day we celebrate our planet as a whole with its diversity and with various events we develop an active stance toward protecting that diversity. We as a group but also as members of a wider biological and speleological society with our stance and work encourage understanding of wildlife and the planet Earth which it inhabits.

Underground still represents an unrecognized part of planet Earth, and the result is endangerment and destruction of this habitat. Species that are a product of millions of years of evolution of which some are unique just for one cave have a chance of completely disappearing because of our irresponsible behavior towards the subterranean realm.

Today, on Earth day, think about which of your decisions could positively impact the protection of the underground habitats and the whole planet Earth.
