Cave tube-worm (Marifugia cavatica) – growth and distribution
Marifugia cavatica is the only subterranean and freshwater serpulid in the world. It lives in underground waters in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Recently, the distribution of the species and its status in the Dinarides were investigated for the first time. Also, by comparing multi-year photographs of the population from Jama nasuprot Torka cave, we got an insight into its annual grew rate.
