Underground mirror
This spring we escaped from the continent to the beautiful and sunny south. We spent 6 days in March sampling wells in the coastal area of Rijeka Dubrovačka, Mokošica and Komolac. We were surprised by the large number of wells, but also by the fact that most of them have been forgotten, dried up or destroyed over the years. The icing on the cake was the sampling of sites located under the cathedral and the main square of Dubrovnik’s old town.
We also held a popular science lecture in cooperation with the Dubrovnik Libraries.
The activities were part of the project “Underground mirror – hidden wells of the tourist pearl of the Adriatic” funded by the City of Dubrovnik.
