The olm – what does genetics say about the population status
The olm, the first described cave animal, is endemic to the Dinaric karst and a symbol of its conservation. However, the difficult accessibility of subterranean habitats is a major obstacle to researching this exceptional species. For this reason, the use of molecular methods greatly facilitates its research, providing information from population structure to the kinship between individuals.
How these relationships are unraveled within one of the largest cave systems in Slovenia, the Postojna-Planina Cave System? Come at a lecture from Dora Kermek and find out.
When? On Monday, March 10, 2025 at 7 p.m.
Where? Lomnička 3, MO Savski kuti.
The lecture will be followed by the CBSS General Assembly.
