Study "Natural features of river Ombla"
Aim of this study is to make the report about natural value of rover Omla (Rijeka Dubrovačka), the shortest river in the world, with special review of caves Vilina špilja – izvor Omble and Sumporna špilja u Mokošici.
All published data and archive of Dubrovnik Natural History Museum will be reviewed. Research results of the last few years and results of the field research for this project will be incorporated in the study. With this study wider public will also be inform about the value and beauty of this unique karst phenomenon on Adriatic coast.
The study will point out:
- short history of research
- natural values of this area
- aquatic, terrestrial and cave habitats
- flora and fauna of this area, with special review of protected and endangered species
- historical and cultural significance of river Ombla
